Motorola phone tools says my phone is not supported

I purchased motorola phone tools several years ago,it used to work for my phone which is a motorola ve20

I just installed it on my laptop which has windows 8,and it says my phone is not supported. It used to work for this phone. I would like to back up my phone book etc.

I did all the updates and it says its up to date now. I do not who else to contact to figure this out.

When you say, "it used to work", do you mean before a certain point? Did you upgrade to Windows 8 or something? Or did it just say suddenly that your device is not supported?
