All of this updated security was the reason I quit going to movies in the first place(that and the high costs). Don't get me wrong, I may go on the rare occasion if the movie really peaks my interest. Even though they might be filming you in the theater, it's not as though they are using it for evil purposes. It's like any other cctv camera where the footage is only used in the event of a crime. Ordinary, innocent, people have nothing to fear.

OK but like I said, what if I wanna "do things" with my girl in a dark theater? Obviously no-ones forcing me to, but say hypothetically we're engaging in whatever, and the guy 2 seats over is pirating the movie? And somehow I found out that not only was this act filmed but repeatedly viewed by many people? Or some malicious individual leaks said footage to the net? Lawsuit.

I quit going to theaters long ago too, except for an occasional night out with a bunch of friends. Concessions cost WAY too much, you can't smoke or drink, there's always some jerk behind you commenting every other minute, some mother who can't control her kids in front of you, and i can't stand the smell of that castor oil substance they call "butter flavor" on the popcorn.

Most of the time, one of my friends or I will just have a movie party at one of our homes, bring booze, pop real popcorn (aka not in a microwave) and load it with real butter, smoke all the cigarettes (or whatever) that we want, and all have a good time watching.

    Screw YOU, Big Brother!

(not you, coolhandz84, the movie police)

How is this going to reduce piracy exactly? All it takes is for one person to record the movie at some small cinema and upload it to thepiratebay.

You come to watch a movie some else will watch a movie of you.Besides all theaters are not going to implement it anyway so probably the uploaders will change the theater & record the movie for torrent users. How do they think that someone is not going to raise a privacy issue & someone is going to upload the movie at some time anyway.
