i want to try out my pentium 3 which does'nt have a hardrive. Can i move a hardrive from my pentium 4 (with windows xp installed) to my pentium 3 and then move it back to my pentium 4 without any harm done?. will my pentium 3 then load on windows xp when i connect the hardrive? also what bios settings do i have to do? thanks for your time.

You would have to remove all your P4 machine dependent drivers from XP before moving it to the P3 machine. And afterwards you'd have to remove all the P3 machine drivers to make XP run on the P4.

Usually BIOSes are configured to auto detect HDs. If this is not the case, set all HD parameters to "Auto" in BIOS setup.
