I am trying to move my 30 gig HD from my Emachine to my new puter and having some difficulties. I am running XP pro and was told that this was a simple process. Should I run the main IDE cable from the HD directly to the motherboard only, and then run the secondary IDE cable from the cd-rw to the dvd-rw then to the motherboard? Also obviously the hd should be set at master, but how do i set the jumpers for the cdrw and the dvdrw? cdrw as master and dvdrw as slave as that is the order they are from the top of the tower? Thanks for any help I can get.

Simple, the position doesnt matter but jumpers DOES matter :)

30gb HD into IDE1 and set it in MASTER
CD-RW into IDE2 and set it in MASTER
DVD-RW into IDE2 and set it in SLAVE

The jumper is located in the back of the cd and dvd burner. the orders doesnt matter.

Although it will work in either position, it is recommended that the master drive
is attached to the connector at the very end of the IDE ribbon cable
