alright, i just installed Mandrake 10.0 on my computer. i also have windows xp on a seperate drive. i am having a hard time figuring out how to boot mandrake from the windows boot screen or windows from the mandrake boot screen. i edited the boot.ini file in windows to look like this.... [boot loader] timeout=-1 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="XP Pro: yep" /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="XP Pro: safe mode" /fastdetect /safeboot:network multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="XP Pro: bootlog & sos" /fastdetect /bootlog /sos multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\boot="Mandrake Linux" but when i select "mandrake linux" from the boot screen i get an error. ideally i would like to boot from the linux boot screen every time, but i can't get linux to recognize my hard drive with windows on it. the hard drive that has windows on it is a seagate SATA drive, which probably has something to do with it. does anyone have any suggestions?
I suppose you missed the sticky thread at the top of this forum: http://www.techspot.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=214 It tells you how to dual boot Linux using Windows boot menu (and a lot more).
