Multiplayer problem on Age of empires 3 :(

Ok, So i start AOE3 Normally, everythings fine, i go to multi player, then when i get to the bit where the little box pops up saying: Connecting to ES(or something) My aoe3 just stops responding so i have to restart it. Does anyone know if this is fixable and if it is how?
