my computer boots up like norm. until the login page, where buttons dont work

Hi, my computer boots up like normal, until the login page, where buttons dont work- only the space button and backspace work. i'm not sure what i need to do to fix it? if i need to, how do i reinstall windows xp, and will this solve it? cheers for any help, jamie

Hey Jamie,

well the issue may actually be quite simple... It may very well be a keyboard fault and not neccesarily windows. So the first step to the process would be to actually test the keyboard. to do so, try plugging the keyboard into another computer, and seeing if you can use it or not, and likewise try plugging another keyboard into your computer, one that you definitely know that works, and testing that. Then you can go from there, to determine if it is a software or hardware issue.
