My computer is taking close to 10mins to load anything

I'm really not sure what kind of issue this falls under, but my computer seriously takes that long to load anything. It is:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 20002
Service Pack 3

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 2.40GHz
2.39 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

Check what are the programs that load along with the OS and disable any of those that are not necessary to do that, sometimes that can make the computer to boot slower than normal.

Press win+r button and type
sfc /scannow
after that try
sigverif and
driverquery

Use MSCONFIG to create temporary configurations for booting - -much like Safe Mode, but you get to choose what loads or doesn't
