My desktop icons are disappeared and mouse and keyboard are frozen

I think that my computer is infected with spyware and adware. I've scanned my computer and found that malware and spyware infected it as I downloaded some freeware two days ago. After that I installed a antispyware StopZilla to block these malwares and spywares.
When I turn on my computer, Windows XP is running but it shows only the empty desktop and no taskbar. I click mouse and keyboard but doesn't work at all. please, tell me what to do?

The best thing to do is to format the partition on which you installed Windows and reinstall again.
And this time make sure you install a firewall (like Zone Alarm - http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conte...sp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en&lid=dbtopnav_zass) and an antivirus program (I recomend NOD32 - http://www.eset.com/download/download.htm).
