It's a minor but slightly annoying problem I am having.
As soon as I login, my documents will pop up.
It just started to do this out of nowhere and I would like it to stop.

So how can I make it stop to pop up my documents?

Some additional background information: I already did a virus scan with no results.

Open msconfig (start, run, type msconfig, press enter)

Select the Statup Tab
Expand the Command column so you can read more of it.
If you scroll down you should see an item listed that involved your My Documents folder.
Uncheck this line, hit ok, then restart.
Upon restart you will get a box that pops up saying you are using a modified startup. Check the box to not display this every time and hit ok.

Tried it but there was no item listed that involved My Documents.

Any other thing that could be doing this?

Did not work, might consider to just buy a portable hard drive, make a backup of some important (and mainly 100% clean) files and then just format it.

Just need to buy a portable hard drive, but formatting and installing vista again is save right?
It's not like it'll do any damage, right?

One last thing to check:

Go to the registry area in the link I posted before.
Check the line that says "Shell"
The value for that line should be "Explorer.exe" (no quotes)

As far as reloading, you should be fine as long as you copy off all the files you need. You may also want to go download the drivers for your hardware from the manufacturer's site and save them on the external drive (unless you have the disc's for them already).

The line that say's shell is just fine. So that's not it either.

Thanks for the tip (downloading the drivers).
