My Inspiron 8200 is dead!!

I just put a new 6G040 MOBO in my Dell Inspiron 8200. Now I get nothing but LED lights that only stay on for about 2-3 seconds. During the switchover, I transferred the old CPU/heatsink to the new MOBO (new thremal paste) and everything fit nice. I cant figure out why this thing is dead! I have re-seated the RAM and went over everything I can think of.

Is it a bad idea to remove a CPU and place it in a new MOBO?

Any ideas??

Thanks

-check that the power connectors are on properly
-reset bios?
-check BIOS settings are correct
-check for shorting to the case?
-run on minimum setup outside of the case on a non-conductive surface and see if it boots

if you do get past POST maybe try running a windows repair, since its using new hardware..

Okay,

Any idea where the power connectors are on this board (6G040)? I am assuming if POST doesn't initiate I can't even check/reset BIOS?

Thanks

Problem Solved!!!!!!

Okay,

I figured it out. There is a small set screw on the square bracket that holds the cpu socket. I over looked that screw and all it took was about half a turn to fully seat the CPU!!
