My laptop screen is blank

Recently my laptop screen went blank after the desktop started scrolling (as in extended desktop) and a message came up saying my power settings (PowerGear4) were corrupted or something and wouldn't work.

I switched it off to hopefully reset the machine but since then I've had no displays, even though everything boots up.

The laptop still gives an out display onto a spare monitor but the main laptop one does not work. I had the occasional problem when the screen wouldn't restore after going on standby and I had to reboot, but now it's not coming back at all.

It looks like a blank screen in standby mode, but not totally off so there seems to be power going to it. :suspiciou

Is there any way to fix this other than send it away to a specialist? It's only 2 years old (may still have warranty).

It is time to have it serviced... warranty or not... Good luck

You may check on eBay for the replacement part(s) you need. I once years ago bought a replacement screen for an old Compaq laptop that was doing the same thing you describe.
