    My Maxtor 6 b250s0 sata HDD appears as a virtual clonedrive???

    how this is possible? i can't even format the thing because it is a virtual clonedrive in my computer... it is a secondary HDD. primary is some sort of a crap ide thing... please someone guide me throug this dark period of computers :haha:
    maxtor website is no use... how to format????

    Were you burning CD's or using any imaging software ? ?
    These processes "mount" free space as a virtual drive and in order for it to be freed up it needs dis-mounted.
    As many programs handle this differently we will need more info.
    In the meantime DLoad Maxblast...Maxtor's HDD utilities.
