My Toshiba is making a clicking noise through audio out put

I am getting a clicking noise, but it is purely audio based, I have razer kraken pro 7.1's, and a stereo with a headphone jack conector and the harman Kardon speakers that came on my laptop. No matter which audio out put I choose, it still makes this almost metronome clicking.
I checked a lot of different settings, but cant find anything wrong?
Does anyone have any ideas what it is?
Please let me know if you have had or are having a similar problem.

Could be a failing hard drive...

Turn off the volume. Reboot the PC do you here a clicking noise under the laptop. If you do then it's the HDD failing to read/write using the head bar. If you don't hear a click or clunking sound. Then check your drivers for your audio sound system. What happen prior to this. Did the laptop sound system ever work right without this sound?
