NASA is preparing to test an asteroid defense system

It's all fine & good if you see the asteroid that far out, what about the ones too close to deflect? There have been a few we have not seen until it was close. And what about that asteroid that sped off out of our solar system after going past Earth? I don't blame it
 
Imagine living in a Universe where you say that mass doesn't count, then follow it up with an equation explicitly based on mass.



Imagine not knowing how orbital dynamics work at all, and not knowing that everything orbiting the sun is actually orbiting the sun. We already went over this and demolished it, buddy.

His point is that the mass is divided by half, while the velocity gets squared (then also divided by half). When multiplying these two values, the one resulting from velocity is significantly more important that the one resulting from mass.

Its why we care about muzzle velocity more than projectile size/mass.
