also would you know why the internet is not working? i have an ethernet cable hooked up to it, is there settings i have to change?
It probably hasn't recognised your network card. I'd need to know what make and model it is to help further with that though. As for installing Puppy, it looks to be a bit complicated to be honest. If you feel up to the task, I would strongly recommend having a good read here: http://www.brighthub.com/computing/linux/articles/20504.aspx And here: http://www.ehow.com/how_5063994_install-puppy-linux-hard-drive.html Googling "installing puppy linux" brings up further results too. P.S. I think your PC has its own personality!
haha, im installing it now, it had some other options like paritioning it but i choose the other option and the other option besides .vdf , lol i wasnt really paying attention but we will see where it goes, and how do i make linux detect the NIC? is there a device manager type thing for linux?
Its possible once its up and running (when your PC feels like it!) it will work. If not, I'm sure we can configure it to work. Do you connect to a DSL modem, or to a router?
So by hub, do you mean network switch, or router? Whether or not your network card automatically gets its IP via DHCP or not makes a difference.
Its good to hear you've not given up on it Let me know the problems when you next look as I might be able to offer soem help.
