  1. My monitor won't display anything, thought monitor was bad so hooked another one up and same problem, but I found that I can start in safe mode and the monitor will work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

You have either display settings that are outside of your monitor's capabilities or corrupt video drivers.

In safe mode, look over the display settings. If those look normal, uninstall your current video drivers and/or set the display adapter to use standard VGA drivers.

Just to add to what Nodsu said, here`s how to get into safe mode.- http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

Change the refresh rate of the monitor to 60hz(righr click desktop, select display properties) If you reboot and the monitor works the refresh rate was too high.

If you reboot and the monitor doesn`t work, the drivers are the problem.
