Need Mic Boost, but have "ADC" instead?

  1. I have a Realtek AC97 card (On XP) that I just updated yesterday to fix this problem...but it hasn't worked.

Long story short, I need "Mic Boost" turned on in order to have my recorded voice not sound like I'm talking from a mile away, BUT when I go to the sound properties where I should turn it on, I instead have a "ADC" option (or something like that) and it does nothing.

Do I need to un-install, re-install, or what? It's been giving myself and my friend fits for the last 48 hours trying to figure it out.

    Any help would be great.

Find out your motherboards model number and go to the motherboards website and download the audio driver from there...
