Network connection problem

I have installed new airlink 101 wireless adapter. It detects wireless networks in the area but won't let me connect to any, even open networks. I am on a pentium 4 with xp pro sp2.

What about your wireless router, or is this the generic "can't connect to a hotspot" issue?

First thing is always find the latest driver for the device and (for your router) the
latest firmware.

When you say "open" networks, are you referring to networks without encryption, or open as opposed to shared key? There is a huge difference.
I am using an "open" network vs one with shared key, but I use 128 bit encryption.

When you select a network, and try to connect, what happens? Do you get a dialog asking you for the key?
