networking problem

this is really weird. i have networked my desktop running windows xp pro sp2 and laptop windows xp home sp2 with a hub. everythings working fine, im using the internet of the desktop thru the hub on the laptop but cant share files. I disabled norton internet security 2005 and presto .. the file sharing works...

but when i enable it again the file sharing is blocked.
i put the laptops IP address and subnet in the trusted computers group in the fire wall config but no avail still the same problem. what am i doing wrong?

you need to make sure that explorer has got permission to pass through the firewall.


by setting the other pc into the trusted group you are only recognising that it is there.
