hello all,

i have just ordered the parts for my freind's new pc im slapping together for him.
i ordered him a 7600 gt, because he's not that big of a gamer, but he still likes to play at the lan parties.
but anyway, i was wondering if he will have to upgrade if he wants to play direct x 10 games like halo 2? will release a patch for all the 7 series nvidia cards? or will you need to get a whole new card to support it? becasue i havent seen any of the new cards say they are directx10 compatible.

this question is for me as well. because im running a 6800 gt AGP card. and i going to upgrade to a 7800 gs.

thanks :)

DirectX 10 is hardware dependant, meaning a card upgrade for anyone who wants the DirectX 10 features. The latest cards are all DirectX 9.0c capable, as is the 6800GT. You'll still be able to play the games, just at reduced settings.
