I had an extra AMD tripple core CPU, case, powersupply and hard drive laying about...so I decided to upgrade my 9yr old sons PC for his birthday. I purchased a M2A74-AM mb and 2gb RAM to round out the system. I did a clean install of Vista Ultimate 64-bit and everything was running smooth...up until I realized there was no audio and I am stumped.

If anyone can help with this I'd be appreciative. My son listens to music to help him get to sleep so this is a right pain in the *****.

Thanks

Doesn't the ASUS site provide you with the clues to the drivers?
Aren't the drivers just AC'97 found on the ASUS site?

Asus has 2 audio drivers listed on their website and I have tried both. The Realtek HD audio seems to default to stereo...but eventually when I force it to speakers, the audio still doesn't work.
"VT1708S High Definition Audio 6 -Channel CODEC
