No color printing in Lexmark x73

I replaced color cartridge as suggested. No color printing. I removed the cartridge and wet the contacts to induce color. That worked, replaced the cartridge...still no color. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

From what I can gather. This seems to be a fairly common problem with Lexmark printers.

Sorry, but I don`t know how to fix your problem.

The only advice I can give is. Ditch the Lexmark, and get a Canon printer. Much more reliable, and a damn site cheaper to run. I.E the cartridges won`t cost you an arm and a leg.

did a setting happioned to get changed somewhere that would only let the printer print in black and white

Many thanks...do you think the carriage holding the cartridge may be clogged and prevents the ink from flowing onto the paper?...if so, how can it be cleaned?
