No Sound after Reinstalling Vista

Recently I reinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium and now I don't get any sound from my speakers. I double checked all of the plugs and their connections, and I checked to see if anything was muted or on a low volume level. I checked the Device Manager to see if there were any issues there and I didn't find anything. At the moment I'm stumped. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, that would be greatly apreciated!

I don't have any soundcard, just onboard.

I got the sound to work by installing the latest Realtek codecs.
