  1. recently i had been having a few issues starting up mozilla firefox. it just takes a long time to start. when i double click the icon..nothing happens for at least 30 seconds to a minute. so i stopped using firefox and went to opera. which was working fine for about 4 months. but now i am having the same issue. i was just wondering if anyone knew of a solution to this problem. and also if you could give your opinions on the best web browser.

i am running XP on a P4 3gig CPU with 1gig RAM and an 80gig HDD.

i have also included my HJT log so if you could please check that too it would be much appreciated.

interesting; I have exactly the opposite symptom. FF is my default and it runs
fine, but using IE to get MS Updates, takes a long time to get my default home
page (my ISP) before I can pull-down the bookmark for Updates.

Is this a symptom of default vs non-default browsers rather than a specific browser?
