Noob can't work camera on MSI Model GE726QD (Apache Pro) 029US

Just bought this lap top and new to laptops. When I hit the function key and the f6 key at the same time, I hear a sound but nothing as a option pops up. Super noob here. My goal is to ether make a sound file to send to a friend or take a picture. What am I missing? Thanks to all that take the time to read and help me with this.
