neither, avg has worked fine for me for the last few years and don't take half the resources.

    hey hey :)

yea i think i'm with most people on this one... Norton and Mcafee both tend to overload the system. Also currently using AVG ..

If I will choose between mcafee and norton, I will choose McAfee. It's portable scanner is cool and effective (scan.exe). And it will not eat much of your computer resources unlike NORTON. If you want some free anti virus. I will recommend AVG. It's effective and FREE

i've been using BitDefender for the past 6 months or so, for home use and for protecting our laptops at work.
Its really good imho. 2008 antivirus with anti-spam and anti-malware cost £45 for 10 licences.
I decided to use it after asking folk then looking for benchests. Bit Defender came very near the top in all of em, nailing nortons and macaphee easily, and mostly outgunning avast and avg. Its only real contender seemed to be kaspersky. Go look for yourself.

neither, use spybot search and destroy

If you are saying to use just Spybot over Norton or McAffee, then that isn't a great idea. Well i wouldn't do it anyway ;) Spybot is just for spyware and trojans etc and not for viruses so you will want an anti virus program such as AVG as well
