Hi, i have an asus a7n8x-x motherboard bios version updated to 1010 with a sempron 3300 processor, i had in it a 512 mb pc2700 ram stick. I wanted to upgrade my ram and i know that my motherboard can support pc3200. I bought 2 1 gig pc3200 sticks but when i try to use them my pc keeps freezing during the post right after the testing memory phase. this happens no matter how i set my bios. I bought both sticks off ebay but am unable to verify the brand as there is no specific markings or labels that would say. Is it possible i was sold bad ram? or is there some sort of compatibility problem with my system? or maybe im just doing something wrong altogether.. any suggestions?

Asus motherboards are very picky about RAM. Go back to the original ram and compare specs with the new RAM. The A7N8X-X is getting a bit old now... I can imagine that PC2700 is about the best you can do
