Hello All

on an Vista Ultimate 64-bit system

I have been using this system for 5-6 months - no problems

When i restarted today i am getting this message. I have attached the MiniDump

Any help is appreciated ...

Both minidumps are stating hardware as the issue but nothing specific as to what hardware it can be. So...

1. Go to your start menu and run ChKDsk in your Run box.

2. Run a full harddrive diagnostics. This will take time but well worth it.

3. Run MemTest on your RAM for a minimum of 7 passes. If you have errors you need to run this test on each stick to determine the corrupted memory stick (s). Replace.

MemTest is a completely free utility that tests your RAM through a series of tests to see if it is healthy or corrupted. Let me first say that this test takes a long time to complete. Many people will start it before they go to bed and let it run as they sleep. The next morning they check the results. It is completely safe to do so.

Here is the link: http://www.memtest.org/

You'll want the latest version and copy to your desktop or a folder. Unzip and install it either on a floppy if you have a floppy or burn to a CD which would be your ISO version. Make sure you have the correct version. Floppy for floppy; ISO for CD.

Do you know how to get into your BIOS? The trick is your CD drive (or your floppy) must be set as your first bootable because the test will load as you boot up.

Once you have the correct drive as first bootable, place the CD in your CD/DVD drive and the test will take over once you exit your BIOS.

It will run through 8 tests. Once it completes all 8 that counts as a Pass. You need to do this for a minimum of 7 passes.

If you have any errors let us know.

If this is confusing perhaps you have a friend that has run MemTest before. He/she would be able to show you how.

Keep us up-to-date.

ran the memtest and it gave me some 20 errors

opened the computer, cleaned a ton of dust and now working

thanks guys ...

Thanks for letting us know. Dust is a killer. Did you try running MemTest again to make sure it just wasn't the dust?
