NUC PC briefly hangs after start/wake-up

Hi, I have a NUC PC with a Celeron processor (Windows 10) which I use mainly for web browsing. A couple of minutes after every start or wake-up of my PC, the computer hangs for a short while (less than 30 seconds) during which nothing works (mouse, keyboard).

The PC is fairly new and as it is only used for browsing and mail reading, it is very unlikely that there is a virus on it (I only use Defender). I did the Windows memory diagnostic with the Windows utility and that yielded no problems.

If it has a hard drive you should pin "Hibernate" to the Start menu and use that so all the drivers don't have to be located at every boot. If it already has a solid state drive, turn off whatever start up apps aren't required, in Task Manager.

System maker was Intel (as it is a NUC). Seems I was trailing by some 8 BIOS updates. I wasn't aware they updated their BIOS that often. Updating it seemed to do the trick.

Thanks for the help.

Do you have any Mapped Drives with the Restore Connection set?

What AV program do you use?

either of these will stall desktop access while these are initializing.

I've seen this on three different systems, so it's not uncommon.
