Nvidia 182.08 driver, problems

recently had a few iproblems with my computer i was being helped by a ms/support tech to solve the problem he sent me to a link and was told ro download a file from Nvidia which contained this driver and it really messed up my machine it some how removed all restore points it removed all internet connections and also when i boot the computer it used to load so fast it now takes about four minutes before the programs load on the machine i have a asus M2NE mother board Nvidia 8800gts 640 meg video card 2gigs of ram
and use xp-pro /os i have rolled back the driver that didnt help i tokk the computer to a friend that is supposed to be ms certified he cant figure i out
has any-one else encountered this problem and manage to fix it

Turn off your antivirus software and reinstall the Nvidia 182 video driver

There should be no issues with that driver unless you got a bad download or it's conflicting with something else installed on your machine, such as your A/V like Tmagic suggested. If you still have issues grab the newer 182.50 drivers just released and try again.
