Nvidia 8200m G

I have recently bought a laptop and im kinda confused on some things. Its a MSI laptop with 4 gigs of ram intel dual core, and a nvidia 8200m G. I use this game to play left 4 dead and team fortress 2 and other than that just office work. When i try to play these games i get 20~27 fps and i start lagging when there is alot of things on my screen. The weird thing is my desktop ran these games fine and its about 6 years old.. can someone please help me out? anyway i can make my gameplay better?

Specs:
Intel pentium 4 2.8ghz
ATI Radeon 9550 256mb
2 gig corsair ram
200gb western digital hard drive

i know for a fact that my new laptop is better..

The 9550 scores 96, while the 8200m only scores 72.
That would be my bet as to why your laptop performs worse. Just in case, turn all power saving options off while gaming.

O ok so it is my graphics card. Anyway i can upgrade it on a laptop or no?
