Yes, they can... Show me the law that says that "A Titan must have xx hardware"... Nvidia could call a small kitten a "Titan" if they felt like it...No, they can't it's not about the title or branding it's about the hardware and the 3090 does not have the actual hardware of a Titan card to do what a Titan can do...
Yup, I have no qualms about scalping a GPU for profit to some rich kid gamer who is stupid enough to pay the prices.Ah, you're a man of principles.
Nvidia fanboy?!!? I simply said I wished that Nvidia would call their card a Titan.... and I find that a bit odd coming from the biggest AMD fanboy on this site...This is about knowledge. Those who know, are very often right even with unreleased products. Then there are Nvidia fanboys who lack even basic knowledge.
There are reasons why latter ones are usually called stupid and ignorant. This is good example.
That is exactly what I mean. Nvidia has positioned Titans as professional cards so why they would call consumer card Titan? Yeah why?Nvidia fanboy?!!? I simply said I wished that Nvidia would call their card a Titan.... and I find that a bit odd coming from the biggest AMD fanboy on this site...
Because they HAVE NOT marketed their Titans as professional cards... they have marketed them as hybrid professional/gamer cards (Prosumer)!! And the 3090Ti will almost certainly be able to fill that role quite easily...That is exactly what I mean. Nvidia has positioned Titans as professional cards so why they would call consumer card Titan? Yeah why?
And still you wonder why you get such comments...
If 3090 Ti is Titan, it would mean Nvidia is mixing "Prosumer" and consumer GPUs with same marking (Ti). It makes no sense at all. Also Titan needs additional resources 3090 Ti at this knowledge won't have so it cannot fill Titan spot.Because they HAVE NOT marketed their Titans as professional cards... they have marketed them as hybrid professional/gamer cards (Prosumer)!! They have Quadro for professional use...

1. Titan and GeForce are different lineups.Nvidia markets the Titan as "the most powerful consumer GPU in the world"...
Please explain how the 3090 (and 3090Ti) don't fit that description...
So, the fault belongs to the victims (stupid rich gamers) and not to the criminals (scalpers). Good logic yours. Thanks for being sincere, anyway.Yup, I have no qualms about scalping a GPU for profit to some rich kid gamer who is stupid enough to pay the prices.
My view on this whole thing is if you can’t beat them, join them. I don’t value PC gaming enough to pay todays prices. But if the prices are that high then I will choose to profit from it instead. You should too.
Oh and it’s not people like me that are causing the situation. We exist because of a lack of supply. You want to be angry at someone, be angry at the manufacturers for not making enough cards to reduce prices lol.
Lmao, victims? Yes these “victims” are spending thousands of pounds on luxury gaming hardware. Also, do you genuinely believe scalping is a crime? Because that’s laughable, it’s completely legal to buy low and sell high. So, the fault belongs to the victims (stupid rich gamers) and not to the criminals (scalpers). Good logic yours. There is like a few minor differences between a Titan and a GeForce. GeForce gets no access to NGX SDK or “pro drivers”, they have gimped deep learning FP32 and typically have less VRAM. Although not in this case as the 3090 has more memory than the current but older Titan V, the Titan V has faster memory however.Nvidia markets the Titan as "the most powerful consumer GPU in the world"...

Yes... but Nvidia could easily take this upcoming "3090Ti" (we don't even know if that's what it is) and give it a Titan driver set and call it a Titan...There is like a few minor differences between a Titan and a GeForce. However to a gamer, the 3090 is the GeForce equivalent of a Titan in terms of price performance.
Oh, yeah maybe I’m not up to date on the titans. The Titan V does have 12GB of HBM, which actually could be slower than the GDDR6X on a 3090 tbh. Ah yes the Titan RTX has 24GB of slower memory than a 3090.Yes... but Nvidia could easily take this upcoming "3090Ti" (we don't even know if that's what it is) and give it a Titan driver set and call it a Titan...
I think you meant the Titan RTX by the way... the V is pretty long in the tooth at this point...
Nowadays, with ANY GPU flying off the shelves faster than they can be restocked, Nvidia could call their cards "Franklin" and still sell out...Oh, yeah maybe I’m not up to date on the titans. I don’t really see any need to call a 3090 a Titan. There’s been so many titans it can be confusing, I’d personally rather it was called a 3090. Leave Titans for people who don’t play games.
The "Ti" on a GeForce card (like the 980 Ti or a 1660 Ti or a 3070 Ti) stands for Titanium name scheme.
