Hello,

I am planning to buy a motherboard. I am not sure if I should buy one with NVIDIA AGP

chipset or VIA AGP Chipset? Which chipset would be better for watching DVDs in particular?

I am considering Asus A7N400-MX mobo with the VIA KT400A chipset? Any views on this?

The nForce 2 chipset is alot better than the KT400 and KT600. You can get nForce 2 boards for as little as $50 US. The video card has more to do with playing DVDs.
An ATI card is best for that. But if you do get an nVidia board stay away from the Radeon 9600 series video cards. There seems to be a compatability problem.

I was told the Asus P4R800-V Delux was a good motherboard for that stuff, i got it but it was a pain in the but to get to working. There is so many things it dont like and it makes it realy hard to do stuff with but you can try that if you want. And sometimes it is very very unstable.
