Older P4 mobo recommendations

Hi All, I have a P4 2.8 ghz chip,512kb L2 cache with the 533fsb, northwoods. I have had this sitting around and would like to know of a good mobo to use with it. There may be some compatibility issues with the newer boards. Date on the box is 9/30/04. PC will be for general use with priority on gaming.Would like one of the best so if anyone has one or has had any experience with this processor I'd be greatfull for some suggestions before I spend my Christmas cash.Thanks ahead and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! ski

First, what socket is the P4, 478? I have no clue, so please tell us that first and we will help ya.

All northwoods are socket 478 aren't they? Well probably the BEST socket 478 mobo is ASUS P4P800E-Deluxe. It's REALLY hard to find though... ebay doesn't even have many. Try just getting something like a P4V8X-X or something.
