Only Internet connection is with Firefox, after virus

Please Help. I was just attacked by Anti virus Soft rouge anti virus. I just downloaded AVG free trial and locked all the infected files in the virus vault. My Internet explorer won't work, so i downloaded Google chrome, which did not work. I uninstalled Google chrome. Google Chrome failed due to error 102 or something like that. I then checked Steam and it could not update due to the inability to connect to the internet.
The only internet browser that works is Mozilla Firefox. Please give me some help.
I don't want to send my computer into a shop because of the costs. Thanks for reading.

Start with; document your TCP settings thus:

get a command prompt and enter
ipconfig /all >myTCP.txt​

then follow-up and attach that file (it's in %userprofile% )

and verify you can ping using an ip address as well as ping by domainname

if you can ping www.google.com, then the TCP settings are good and it's a problem with the browser settings.
