ITM members were asked if they would discourage students in Australia from considering IT as a career, if offshore outsourcing continued to shrink the local employment market.
More than 90 percent of members said, based upon current conditions, that they wouldn't recommend information technology as a viable career path.

A very interesting story from CNet News, later extended in a second article "Overseas outsourcing to rise in 2003". We have continuedly seen a trend over the last couple of years and it's expected to go on and on. Should current students consider dropping IT majors? (including myself), it's a worrying topic.

You should note that these articles refer a lot to developed countries with an emphasis on the US (where I plan to transfer my studies next year)...

I have no idea what could be the situation in Belgium, I guess you should know better perhaps you are just fine working in your own country.

All IT jobs aren't about to disappear overseas overnight.
