I need to know how Dell inspiron 5100 2.66Ghz CPU could be possibly overclocked. Is there anyone who done the overclocking to this kind of laptops before or have some helpful tips on how to do that?

Overclocking this unit is not wise. It cannot handle much overclocking, and has a very high failure rate when you try to bypass the protections against it. Your computer will definitely be at risk of a shorter life if you are successful in boosting the clock.

If that is not possible, no problem

Yeah I understand what you mean exactly. Anyway, I am going to replace the whole machine with some sort of new laptop, and I might overclock it as well. The laptop I am lookiing has specifications not less than whats below

    HDD > 400Gb
    Vedio Card > 512 Mb
    Intel Core 2 Dou > 2.3Ghz L2 Chache > 4MB

    and some other secondary features.
