    Hi All,

I have a Packard Bell laptop, it was working fine, then one day went to turn it on and nothing...except for the cooling fan turning on. The standby light etc comes on, but no operational noises, ie harddrive booting up. It's really baffled me.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It would be helpful to know age and model.
Packard Bell is still a popular computer in the United Kingdom, but nowhere else.
Common causes are failed cooling fan, failed hard drive, memory module gone bad, cooling ports filled with dust and dirt.
Once a laptop has stopped, something must be replaced before it will begin working once more. so if you do not have experience inside the case, solicit the help of a knowledgable friend.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply and advice. It's a Argo C2, about 2 years old. I will take it apart have a look to see if there is any dust etc.

    Any progress?
