PC Case modding

  1. I want to tidy up some wires, and saw something that caught my attention: 90 degree molex connectors. Apparently these things are pretty good, as it'll allow you to connect a whole string of molex heads where you need them. It even boasts being able to connect a whole string of HDDs and CD drives on one power line from the PSU.

I'm worried that if I do connect it this way, will there be any consequences? the last problem I'd want to have is not enough power going through the line, or the amount of power going through that single line causes problems to the PSU/HDD.

it all depends on the power supply's specs and how much current you're drawing.

    ohm's law!

running stuff like that in parallel will certainly reduce the voltage in each connection.

reduce voltage? thats in series, this is in parallel.

Or at least it looks like its parallel. But even then, in that case having 2 HDDs on one lead would have caused significant problems.

And upon inspection, there is already quite alot of 4 pin molex on each lead. I'm gonna do it :p Will take out the solder, and re-solder some longer wires :D
