PC Detecting Low RAM?!?!

  1. Hey everyone, When i go to sytemn information it says 261,616 kb ram. IS ThIS correct???!? What is this problem? this started happening after my other problem please look at this other thread

    I am currently running another psu that is 230W but it hasnt had the problem yet like my other one did

    That is correct. 261,616kb divided by 1024KB(the number of KB`s in 1MB) = 256MB of ram.

    how much ram are you supposed to have?

    do you have integrated grahpics?
    many programs hide in ram for faster access.

    If you look in his profile, you will see that he has 256Mb of ram lol.

    Probably because you don`t have enough ram. You should look at getting a 512MB stick of ram.

    Also you`ve already said you think you`ve got psu problems. That won`t help, but we`ll leave that for your other thread.

    Can a psu slow down the computer? If theres not enough watts or its just going bad?

    No, but it would make the system unstable. Like I said, lets leave the psu discussion for your other thread.
