I've gathered about $250 for some upgrades to my pc, I'm going to wait a few months to get an Athlon 64(mainly because of price) so right now I want to upgrade what i have, and be ready for my next upgrade....

    System Specs:
    Athlon XP 1800+
    ECS K7S5A
    384mb PC2100 DDR
    GF4 Ti4600
    Audigy Gamer
100GB HDD WD SE 8mb cache
    XP Home
    cheap 300watt P.S.

I am looking at getting a strip of either crucial or Corsair(Value) 512mb PC3200, mainly because I want to be able to use the strip when I move up to a new mobo/processor like the Athlon 64. Will the PC3200 work in my system, I know I wont see the full potential of the Ram, because it will operate as 2100, i just want to be sure the 3200 isnt different in any way...???

I'm also getting an Antec 400w P.S. will this be enough for the newer mobo/proc??

There is no reason why the pc3200 ram wouldn't work for your system but maybe you should go with a little higher wattage power supply just to completely safe. Maybe 450w to 500w supply by antec or enermax because your vid card and hard drive use massive amount of power and I have no idea how much an Athlon 64 uses.

    Thanks Supra,
I think I'm going to go with the Antec 450w, it's only $73.00 on a site I found. And I think I'll go with the crucial memory because it uses 5ns chips compare to the 6ns on corsair...
