Phillips dvd+-rw dvd8801 or dvd rom ts-h352c

i can not read a sony handycam dvd-r mini disk on my computer in either the dvd burner drive or the dvd rom. i can read this disk on my dvd-player. are these two divices not capable of reading these type of disk?
