Have just purchased new system. Invoice shows DVD Burner to Pioneer 212D. Noticed that a firmware upgrade is available but Windows Hardware , everest and SIW show 212 with no D.

Was wondering if this was normal and for those that know what hardware they really have, what does it show for you.

My main concern is that the firmware upgrade is different for these two models and I don't want stuff up.

    Thanks in advance.

The definite way to tell what you have is to look at the writing on the top of the drive itself.

I have a 112D and the D means that it can't read/write DVD-RAM discs so you will not want to put the wrong firmware on.
