poweing on computer without CPU

  1. I am building a new system and everything is all put together except the CPU. I ordered that and it should be here monday. Now would it ruin everything to just try powering it on to make sure the PSU/Motherboard work? I just wanted to see if the fans spin and the power button is set right (because Chaintech confuses the hell out of me). I mean I geuss I could wait, but I was just checking to see if it would hurt at all. thanks

It won't do anything, so there`s absolutely no point in trying without a CPU installed.

So your basically saying that when he goes and pushes the power button. Nothing will happen at all, So does that mean that without the CPU then nothing will happen when he trys to turn it on, Not even the fans will go on or anything at all ???
