Power LED on monitor on, but blinks off/on every 5 seconds

The monitor (Samsung 2693HM) is on, everything looks great. Never goes off, never blinks, no problems. The blue power LED is on, but blinks off, then back on, every 5 secs. I hit the power button on the monitor and nothing happens. None of the buttons work on the monitor. I just bought this about a week ago...whats going on?

Usually when a situation like this occurs, the monitor is not receiving a signal from the PC.
Double check your connections, since it's only been a week, maybe take it back to the store and have them check it unless you can check it on a different system.
