Hi all,

So lately I've been having issues with point to point over ethernet on my Microtik router.

Everytime this disconnection and re-connection happens my public IP changes.

Is there an effective method to do port forwarding which changes with the public IP changes.

Just for the meantime because It's a bother changing the same firewall rule 5 times in a day until my ISP fixs the ADSL port outside.

Thanks and Regards,

MattS

changing the same firewall rule
The trick is to NOT use the raw IP address itself in the rule.

Instead, use the logical name "local subnet"
On the Windows FW, pick the rule you desire, click on the SCOPE tab, then the radio button (*) these IP addresses and enter "local subnet"

The rule will follow whatever IP is Local :)
