Prescott installation in a northwood system -- damage?

Hello;

Just yesterday I bought a p4 3.0E 800 fsb for my shuttle system only to find out after the fact on shuttle's website that prescott is not supported :eek: . Would the prescott chip be damaged after being in the system? The system booted a couple times showng the bios screen, then after that not even clearing the bios would get the system to boot. I just want to know if there's damage (to either the chip or mobo) since I'm hoping to sell the chip.

Thanks

Josh

the first thing to check is whether there is any physical dammage on that CPU, u will ok if there is not any moreover try checking the CPU on another MB which supports that CPU.
