    Prescott's newer and runs hotter than the northwood. Prescott has more processor cache built in. I think the two perform similarly, but northwood runs cooler. I like amd btw. :)

    Edit: To the OP. Why'd you vote for prescott without knowing what it is?

    Prescott is a refined P4 core. At the same clock speeds, however, it is actually a poor performed compared to the Northwood cores, and runs a LOT hotter.

    It scales higher, however, and so the clockspeeds for it will be higher (i.e. the 3.73ghz cpus). The prescotts can also come with more L2 cache (such as the EE)

    lol thanks for the imput, i fell like the only gamer that like INTEL but im yet to build my first computer, i will be soon when i turn 13. i trust P4 and intel because theasts all i worked with my whole life my dads firstcomputer was a p2 or p3 it was bught in 98 i thnik
