I have a 3-yr old Canon inkjet Printer which now completely refuses to print black. I've tried new ink, cleaning the heads, re-aligning, etc all to no avail. Maybe the print head is shot? Anyway, I don't print much and I'm not crazy about having to replace my printer every 3 years (and having all my numerous unused ink cartridges wasted). Is there any way I could find and install a new print head, and how would I go about doing it? Could it be worth it? Thanks, Tim
Your best bet would be to contact canon. They should have a good idea of what the problem is and what solution if any, would fix it. I know on my Canon printer, it`s fairly easy to replace the printhead. Regards Howard
Thanks Howard. I took your advice and contacted Canon...they said that on Monday I could call back and order another printhead from their parts department. I didn't realize how easy it is to remove the printhead, I see what you mean Tim
